There was an immediate spike of 553% in searches for Scottish Terrier puppies using the Kennel Club’s Find a Puppy Service in the week of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014.
At one Welsh kennel for Scotties, they usually had 6 people on a waiting list. Enough demand to cover most healthy litters. After the Glasgow Games that jumped to 36 waiting. And after Knopa, the first Scottie to win Crufts since 1929, it jumped to 150 on the waiting list in 2015.
Despite talk of Scotties on the endangered list, demand for them has soared during the 2020 Lockdown in the UK.
