On Sunday 13th October, 10 intrepid canine explorers and their long-suffering owners braved the rain to take over until then regal and tranquil Richmond Park in south west London.

Their names? Archie, Arbeg, Dill Pickle, Bertie, Barney, Hamish, Ghillie, Ben, Douglas and Maggie. For Ardbeg and Maggie, this was their first ever day out with the gang, and they were determined to make the most of it. Despite her diminutive size Maggie certainly made an impression, especially on new boy Ardie…was this start of a budding Scottie Club romance?

The rain managed to stay away and we enjoyed a lovely 2 hour stroll with our tearaways. Everyone behaved immaculately-although Ben did attempt a breakaway at one point, and Barney kept the rutting stags at bay by barking non stop at them. Maggie discovered the fun of playing with a ball, and Douglas – the pack’s lothario- kissed all the human ladies.

The success of a great walk is measured by how well they sleep when they get back home, and judging by all the photos of snoozing Scotties that evening (see gallery below), this walk was a great one indeed.

The next West London walk is mooted for the 15th of December. Douglas and Maggie would love to show everyone their patch. More details to follow on our WhatsApp Groups.
