Many of you will have attended the 29 June Walkabout in Rickmansworth Aquadrome, our quarterly venture to various parks and other suitable places to walk our Scotties and meet fellow Members.

This time, however, we asked those who attended to complete a special feedback form. This was possible thanks to the hi-tech of the Club Member  Tags which ensure we know how many and which members attend our events.

From now on, Members will be encouraged to complete an online feedback form following a Walkabout, so that the Club can learn more about you and also to ensure that we can adapt the club’s offerings to best suit your needs and expectations. It is therefore important that you do feedback when invited.

The survey was emailed to attending Members a few days after the Walkabout, to ensure their recollections were fresh.

The survey form was short and happily all 13 owners plus their Scotties were accounted for in the poll. No one was left disenfranchised in this (second) most important poll of July 2024.

Feedback is anonymised for your privacy and below you can see the combined responses from Members. We thank you all for your time to respond!

The overall headline was that every single respondent said that they were “very happy” with the Walkabout. This is an important metric for Meeting Marshal Glyn.

There were six standardised questions we wanted to know about, to gauge the sentiment of Members who attended.

There was also a seventh question which was open, allowing Members to make suggestions about the next location for a Walkabout, what format the event should take, and other fascinating insights.

The first question related to the Members expetations for the Walkabout. A unanimous 100% said they were “very happy”.

The second question asked Members to rate the location for the Walkabout. On a scale of 1 to 5 the result landed at a very healthy 4.5. Only one person remarked that they were unhappy with the location.

The third question related to the clarity of instructions the Club provided for Members to find the location. Here it was even stronger at 4.9/5.0.

The fourth question was about whether members were delighted with the duration of the Walkabout. This scored a strong 4.6/5.0.

The fifth question was about whether the Walkabout afforded Members and their VIP Scotties ample opportunity to make new friends. The verdict was a strong 4.7/5.0.

The penultimate question was about refreshments and Member support provided on the Walkabout. Members awarded this 4.8/5.0.

The final question allowed Members to get creative. One Member wrote: “Virginia Water, Windsor (park) – big car park at Virginia water plus cafe, eating stops around lakes and dog washing facilities if needed.” LSC has done events beyond the M25 so maybe one day!

Another wrote: “More often is probably good!” about the regularity of our quarterly Walkabouts.

Going north-west for this Walkabout definitely received someone’s vote: “We were delighted to have a west meet up. We are not usually able to make a Saturday event but being more local for us we managed to get there.”

One Member favoured how we shuffle around locations: “Location rotation works well. Great to discover new places.”

Hyde Park, where we have done Walkabouts before, as well as the Chiswick Dog Show were other suggestions.

One Member was universally delighted, remarking: “Any location is interesting, communication always friendly.”

Another Member asked us to be a bit more ambitious with Walkabouts: “Some sort of activity is a good idea to focus everyone’s attention in one direction! Will have a think about this !”

This report is shared only with the Members via WhatsApp. But given the stellar results, we decided to offer this one time a separate summarised version for the general public, which you can see on the website on Monday afternoon. After all, they need to know what they are missing!

The next Walkabout will be at the end of September. Wishing you all a great summer!
